Hillcrest has definitely been improving their stores, and one of its biggest improvements is the addition of H&M. If any of you are avid readers of Who U Wearing, you probably already know that I am a huge fan of H&M; its fast fashion and affordable pricing. When I heard that H&M was opening at Hillcrest I was thrilled because I felt that the mall was always lacking this Swedish brand.
Finally, yesterday was the grand opening. Apparently there were lineups at 7am for gift cards ranging in value from $10-300. I was not there that early, but I made it by 11am, and the place was packed!
I noticed there was also a beauty section! This was my first time coming across the beauty section. In North Toronto I haven’t’ really seen the beauty sections in-store around here, or maybe I have missed it?
Regardless, there is more exciting news for H&M because the KENZO collection arrives in stores on November 3rd – worldwide and online! I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for this exciting collection.
I just came in from an appointment at Aveda for their FREE customized Tulsara facial ($35 value). The goal of the new Tulsara skincare line is to achieve healthier looking skin through advanced skincare science and the wisdom of Ayurveda, the ancient healing art of India. The word Tulsara itself means ‘moving towards balance’ in Sanskrit.
I got to tell you, if you have 20 minutes to spare you should try it out because it’s ultra soothing and balancing.
Here’s my experience:
Before anything I had a green tea because they always offer one at Aveda so it got me right into a calm space of mind.
Next, the woman doing my facial removed some makeup I had on.
She told me she was going to do the new Tulsara radiant awakening ritual on my skin, which is a daily ritual inspired by Ayurveda. There are two steps to this ritual.
First, she gently dry brushed my face using The Tulsara radiant facial dry brush. She brushed in circular motions, this helps to remove dead cells from the skin’s surface, and also prepares your skin for the next step. I felt like my face was tingling or like my blood was flowing a little better. No lie.
She applied Tulsara radiant oleation oil and massaged my face for one hot minute! It was pretty damn relaxing and I think I drifted off to sleep for a few seconds. *Sidenote: You can choose whether you want to ‘visibly lift and firm,’ ‘visibly brighten,’ or ‘calm and soothe.’ I chose brighten!
To remove the radiant oleation oil she used Aveda’s botanical kinetics hydrating treatment lotion.
And voilà, I felt like a new woman!
Plus, they sent me home with a couple of samples.
